Canadian Rockies
The Canadian Rockies are absolutely breathtaking. With galcier fed water the lakes are almost surreal in color. When combined with the seclusion of the surrounding mountains they become extra special and beautiful.

Creative Endeavors

Crested Butte, Colorado
Fall, in the Rockies, gives you a chance to see the Aspens in all their glory, reflections in streams, and of course the mountains. The week I was there provided no clouds in the sky (sorry no Ansel Adams Cloud Gun was available). What took their place was abundant blue skies. Unless you are a local of Colorado remember to take your altitude sickness pills before you start taking a hike. You'll need them!

Death Valley
Death Valley is truly the land of extremes. The geology of the area is very unique and for myself, I have never seen anything like it in all my travels. Picture salt crystal crunching under your feet, sand filling your shoes, vistas that take your eyes into vast valleys and mountains rising from below sea level to 11,000 feet. Add to this colors from the rainbow that can be subtle or can be stark in contrast.

Northern California - Peanut Butter & Jellyfish
During a brief stay in Northern California I was able to take a tour of Chinatown in San Francisco, visit Monterey and Carmel and of course stop by a winery or two in Napa and Sonoma. Peanut butter on an English Muffin always makes breakfast good, too!

Northern Georgia
When you think of Georgia, many times one only thinks of Atlanta or Savannah, and of course peaches. Georgia offers much more! Waterfalls, mountains, quaint towns of all types and some beautiful gardens. Of note is Amicalola Falls which at 730 vertical feet is the tallest U.S. falls east of the Mississippi. Take a peek at my 2010 visit to Northern Georgia.

Norway
Norway is a fascinating country of 4.5 million people. Fjords and mountains cover over 90% of the landscape. If you enjoy the mountains and the sea Norway is the place for you. Most building and houses are of wood on top of stone / rock / concrete foundations. Many of the older building have a pitch to them so when you look at the structure images it really is not the fault of the photographer.

|

White Sands National Monument
Great wave-like white, gypsum sands cover the landscape of New Mexico. Gypsum sand starts out clear but scratches caused by collisions with other sand cause the light to reflect a white color. You have to go there to believe it. I am used to the yellow sands of the Great Lakes and Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Soap Tree Yucca's flourish in this harsh environment.
|
|

Zion National Park
Zion is a small but diverse national park with cottonwoods, the Virgin River, and colorful mountain cliffs. The colors of Fall make the beauty of Zion glow even more.
